What’s AlzMeter?

I spent 18 years as the CEO & CFO of a neuroscience research company. I’ll never forget the keynote speaker at an Alzheimer’s conference I attended 7 years ago. Her research showed that moderate exercise reduces cognitive decline. She said “If we could put exercise into a pill, we’d be billionaires.” That stuck with me. Not because the money, but because the lost opportunity to transform lives.

And so I began my journey dreaming up a way to deliver that “therapy”, without a magic pill, to convey the benefits of exercise and the many other lifestyle choices that researchers estimate can prevent or delay nearly 50% of Alzheimer’s cases. We named those lifestyle choices SLEDSS: Sleep, Learn, Exercise, Diet, Social time and Stress management.

I believe in people, in their ultimate desire to live happier, healthier lives, and that with personalized insights and coaching, they will take action to improve their lives.

We delivered AlzMeter to the app store in August 2023. Hundreds of users joined to learn more and embrace brain health. After almost 2 years, we’ve made the tough decision to take the app down and focus on the broader mission of Whole in One Health: building a personal health hub to empower and inspire people to take charge of their health. The features of AlzMeter will be added to W1 as soon as we’re able, giving people much broader tools to live long, healthy lives.
